Mrs. Vernice Tucker Ezell, 90, died Saturday, June 25, 2016. Funeral and committal services will be held on Tuesday, June 28, at 2 o’clock, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Elder Dan Bryant will officiate and the family will greet friends on Monday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Grace Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Bryan Parish, 5872 Sardis Church Road, Macon, GA 31216.
Mrs. Ezell was born in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late George M. and Annie Mae Green Tucker. She graduated from Irwin County High School, and spent most of her life as a homemaker, building her home and raising her family. She did work for several years for the Bibb County Courthouse, but never lost focus on her family. Mrs. Ezell was a member of Grace Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Riley Ezell, Jr.; her son, Joe Riley Ezell, III; a grandson, Stephen Lane Grubbs; and her 6 siblings, of which she was the last.
Surviving Mrs. Ezell are her daughter, Wanda Ezell (Quinton) Grubbs; granddaughters, Amy Ezell Moore, Janiece Michelle (Philip) Dukes; 4 great granddaughters; 4 great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
