Sara Ellen Heath

Sara Ellen Heath, 79, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Burial will be at 4:00 PM at the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Statesboro. Rev. Lance Merritt will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to West Highland Baptist Church, 6320 Peake Road, Macon 31210.

Mrs. Heath was born in Statesboro, Georgia the daughter of the late Sarah Redd Newton and Berry Newton. She was retired from Janie’s Day Care, where she looked after children for over 13 years, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Heath was a member of West Highland Baptist Church, and the Joy Makers Senior Club. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl Newton and Rabon Newton; sister, Eloise Beasley.

Mrs. Heath is survived by her husband of 62 years, Valder Heath, Jr. of Macon; sons, Larry (Penny) Heath of Jones County, Lindy (Nenita) Heath of Chesapeake, VA, and David (Sabrina) Heath of Jones County; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
