Sara Hall Cox

Sara Hall Cox, 90, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Rex Odom officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be given in her honor to A.L.S. at 1955 Cliff Valley Way, Suite 116, Atlanta, GA 30329 or the American Cancer Society at 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201.

Mrs. Cox was born in Augusta, GA to the late William Henry Hall and Bertha Lavinia Olliff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray William Cox and a son, Bill Cox. She retired from Southern Bell after thirty-eight years of service, where she worked as an operator, plant, traffic, commercial, and a frameman. She was a member of the Heritage Bass United Methodist Church. She loved her many friends, with whom she played Canasta and Spider Solitaire.

She is survived by her children, Steve Cox, Frances Cox, Joy Cox , David Cox all of Macon, and Harriett (Doug) Hetzel of SC; grandchildren, Billy Cox, Todd Cox, Jennifer Cox, Mallory Hetzel, Lauren Hetzel, and Douglas Hetzel, and several great grandchildren.
