Sandra Worsham Massengale, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, July 23, 2016. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 11:00am in Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue, with Rev. Jim Duggan officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends Monday night from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, 31210 or the donor’s favorite charity.
Mrs. Massengale was born March 11, 1941, in Macon, Georgia to the late W.S. Worsham and Martha Bush Worsham and lived in Macon all of her life. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Gary Worsham of Macon and brother, Robert “Bobby” Worsham of Orange Park, Florida.
A graduate of McEvoy High School, she attended University Hospital School of Nursing in Augusta, Georgia, graduating with an RN Degree. She started her nursing career at the Macon Hospital and Middle Georgia Hospital, retiring from Charter Northside Hospital after 40 years as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Tommy Massengale; children, Stacy (Chuck) Whitehead and Craig Massengale; grandchildren, Annabelle and Charlie Whitehead, all of Macon; sister, Patricia Young, of Jupiter, Florida; brother, Roy (Linda) Worsham, of Byron; and several nieces and nephews.
