Richard Bonner Lane, Sr., 95, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Noon in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Winchester Cemetery in Winchester, KY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3040 Riverside Drive, Macon GA 31210.
Richard was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Richard Linton and Mary Bloodworth Lane. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Craycraft Lane. Richard was retired from Georgia Power Company as an Electrical Engineer and was a member of the Ambassador Club with Georgia Power. He was a member of First Christian Church in Athens and was a member of the Rotary Club and Satilla River Club. Richard enjoyed photography and traveling. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and uncle.
He is survived by his children, Gail (Harry) Goodman of Abbeville, Richard B. Lane, Jr. of Arnoldsville, Meg Murray of Greensboro, grandchildren, Gala (Jon) Bloodworth, Holly (Gary) Howell, great grandchildren, Lindsay (Statham) Sapp, Cason (Vanessa) Bloodworth, Drew Howell, Haley Howell, Jake Howell, and great great grandchildren, Caiden Bloodworth, Westin Lindsey, and Jon Statham Sapp, and his caregiver and "best friend", Elaine Mcgirt.
