Mr. Harper was born January 19, 1931, in Macon and honorably served his country with the United States Army. He was a retired truck driver for many companies including Yellow Freight Company and was a member of the General Drivers, Warehousers and Helpers Union Local #509. Mr. Harper was a former firefighter in Charleston, South Carolina. He along with his wife played, sang and danced at the Powersville Opera House and enjoyed tending to their garden of beautiful flowers. Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his wife: June Anthony Roberts Harper as well as a brother: J.B. Harper.
Mr. Harper is survived by his son: Anthony P. Harper; grandchildren: Amanda Jean Stringer and Alan Daniel Stringer; brothers: Steve Harper and Dan Harper and a sister: Faye Westbrook.
