Murray Dorris Crutchfield, 89, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 surrounded by his family. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Kenny Wells officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry St., Macon GA 31201.
Murray was born in Macon, Georgia to the late George and Alice Brantley Crutchfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay Hooker Crutchfield, three sons, Kenny, Keith and Danny, and brothers, Freddie Crutchfield, J.P. Crutchfield, Gene Crutchfield and George Crutchfield. Murray served his country in the United States Air Force and was retired from Armstrong World Industries. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a member of the Scottish Rite Temple. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his daughters, Terri (Norman) Dunn, Vickie Lumley, grandson, Jason Ryals, great grandchildren, Darrien Ryals, Joshua Ryals, Amy Coop, Shiane Grimsley, Christian Ryals, four great great grandchildren, brother, Teddy (VeGlinda) Crutchfield, sister, Bobbie Russell, and several nieces and nephews.
