Michael “Mike” Rigsby Gay, 66, of Macon passed away in his home Wednesday, September 12, 2018. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 am in the Mausoleum Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Jerrell Payton officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 pm in Pinecrest Memory Gardens in Pelham, Georgia. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the National Wildlife Federation, www.nwf.org.
Mike was born in Camilla, Georgia to Margaret Huey Bracewell and the late Thomas Rigsby Gay. He was a 1970 graduate of Lanier High School and remained a booster his whole life. Mike was a member of Christ Chapel, an avid reader and outdoorsman, and especially loved hunting. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, who never met a stranger.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his daughters, Jennifer (Justin) Gay Harbeson and Ashley (Matthew) Gay Woodhouse; grandchildren, Avery and Sadie Harbeson and Lena and Thomas Woodhouse; siblings, Tami (Tommy) Booth and Kelly Lewis; nieces and nephews, Zachery Whigham and Grace Ann Morris, Josh (Joy) Booth, Katie (Rob) Ferguson, and their children; aunt, Betty Ann Brinkley; and beloved dog, Sir Quigley.
