Mary Smith Kelly passed away at a local nursing home on Sunday, April 2, 2016. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, April 6 at 11:30 a.m. at the Kelly Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Freeman officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Plentitude Baptist Church Building Fund, 924 Howard Roberts Road, Gray 31032.
Mary was born in Peach County, Georgia to the late William Smith and Jessie Gordon Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Kelly and son, Chris Kelly. She was a devoted homemaker and dearly loved by her family. Mary loved to cook, read and put together large jigsaw puzzles. She also loved to make quilts and do embroidery.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Brenda Kelly; daughter-in-law, Lisa Kelly; granddaughters, Christol (Troy) Clymer and Rebecca (Brandon) Upshaw; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Cutler Clymer and Davis and Dalten Upshaw, sister-in-law, Julia Hendrick , and several nieces and nephews.
