Marjorie Webb Hargrove, 85, was born on April 24, 1939 in Macon, Georgia to the late William T. Webb, Sr. and Annie Muriel Cotton Webb. Peacefully, she departed this life on the morning of Sunday, September 29, 2024. The family will greet friends from 12:00PM to 1:00PM, Friday, in the Mausoleum Chapel of Macon Memorial Park. A celebration of her life will follow at 1:00pm.
Marjorie received her formal education in the Bibb County Public School System and graduated in 1957 from Ballard Hudson High School in Macon, Georgia. Marjorie was the eldest remaining amongst eight siblings. She is preceded in death by her brothers William Webb, Jr., Jimmie D. Webb, and Adolphus Webb, Sr., along with her sister, Zutredia Dinkins.
Marjorie was a devout and faithful member of the Church. She began under the stewardship of Bishop L.M. Bell of Bell’s Temple A.O.H. Church and later became a founding member of Westside A.O.H. Church, under the guidance of Overseer Jimmy D. Webb, and later Elder Latonya Dean. Later in life, she became a member of New Dawn Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Danny Jones. Through it all, she was a missionary for the Lord, and she believed that a life in service to God and others would be a life well lived.
Marjorie was a retired receptionist for the Bibb County Board of Education. Mrs. Hargrove enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and listening to gospel music, however, her favorite past time was spending time with her loved ones and friends.
Mrs. Hargrove is survived by her husband of over sixty years: Ulysses Hargrove; son and daughter-in-law: Jerry and Estorious Hargrove; brother and sister-in-law: Donald and Elizabeth Webb; sisters: Barbara Lee and Gracie Moss; aunt Carolyn Anderson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
