MACON – Louise Hatcher Robinson passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at a local nursing care facility. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday at Riverside Cemetery with Dr. Tim McCoy and the Rev. David Jordan officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Mentors Project of Bibb County, P. O. Box 13750, Macon, GA 31208.
Mrs. Robinson was born on December 24, 1928 in Jacksonville, FL. She resided in Columbus, GA before moving to Macon in 1996. Mrs. Robinson attended Ingleside Baptist Church, Macon and was a member of Sherwood United Methodist Church, Columbus where she was active in many areas, including the Children’s Ministry and Vacation Bible School. She was active in the P.T.A. and received several awards for service. Mrs. Robinson worked for Royal Crown Cola, Gibraltar Fence Co. and Saladmaster Cookware while being a fulltime, devoted homemaker. She was active in many garden clubs where she won numerous First Place and Best of Show Awards. Mrs. Robinson loved people, chocolate, roses, shrimp, crafts, baseball and shopping. She made beautiful Christmas decorations, quilts, floral arrangements, delicious pies and various other crafts that she enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Oscar Lee Robinson, Jr. and her brother, James Russell Hatcher, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy Greene (Dr. Michael Greene) and her grandson, Jeremy Greene.
The family wants say “Thank you” to Mrs. Robinson’s caregivers at United Hospice and at Lynn Haven Health and Rehab for their kind and compassionate care during this time.
