Lottie Poole Dorsey, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 3:30pm in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Claire Davis officiating. The family will greet friends at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 3:00pm Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Heights Baptist Church, 158 Lamar Road, Macon, 31220.
Lottie was born in Ideal, Georgia to the late Clovis P. Poole and Annie Lou Parks Poole and was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, David Dorsey; son, Todd Dorsey; sisters, Clara Brown and Luneal Harvey and a brother, Chasteen Poole. She was a member of the former Cherokee Heights Baptist Church, now New Heights Baptist Church, where she was a committed volunteer as well as in the community. Lottie was active in the Chow and Chatter Group. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Workers and a volunteer with the American Red Cross and Board of Elections voting polls. Lottie was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Survivors include her son, Gary Dorsey; grandsons, Brent and Kevin Dorsey; sister, Annette (Robert) Hammond; and several nieces and nephews.
