Laurice Taqtaq Khoury, 93, passed away on August 26, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00PM on August 29, 2022 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Khoury was born on February 10, 1929 in Jaffa, Palestine to the late Lufti Taqtaq and Afifa Khoury. Prior to marriage, Laurice served as a dedicated teacher at Talitha Kumi – German Evangelical Lutheran School near Bethlehem, Palestine where she taught multiple subjects at the elementary level. She also taught at what is now known as Nablus Church School (part of CMS). The Church Mission Society (CMS), was founded in Britain in 1799 under the name the Society for Missions to Africa and the East as a mission society working with the Anglican Communion, Protestant, and Orthodox Christians around the world. She was preceded in death by her husband, Qustandi Nicola Khoury; grandson, Sam Nabor; siblings, Lily Taqtaq, Akram Taqtaq, and Fuad Taqtaq. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and teacher.
Survivors include her children, Hani Q. Khoury (Diane), Hania Khoury Naber (George), Samar Khoury, and Nabil Khoury (Anne); grandchildren, Zoey Khoury, Roy Tank, IV (Samantha), Danielle Peek (Matt), Alexi Michel, Timothy Khouri and Jennifer Meally ; great grandchildren, Hannah Peek, Isabella Peek and Natilie Tank; and sister, Violet Ishaq.
