Kay P. Shelnutt

Kay P. Shelnutt, 70, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens with the Rev. Dan Gobble and Jeff Shelnutt officiating. A reception will be held in Kay's memory on Friday, January 1, 2016 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, Dayspring Mission, P.O. Kay was born in Laurens County to the late Ellis and Mary Braswell Peacock. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wallace Peacock. Kay was retired from Vulcan Materials and was a longtime member of Cathedral Church of the Advent of Birmingham.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Shelnutt of Birmingham, AL, son, Jeffrey Sloan Shelnutt of Birmingham, AL, step-daughter, Tammy O’Hara of St. Louis, MO, three grandchildren, brother; Bobby Peacock of Byron, GA, sister; Dottie Peacock Morris of Greensboro, NC and several nieces and nephews.
