Joseph Richard Hampton Sr., 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 9, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kim Washburn officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until service time. Interment will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests donations to be made to All About Animals, 101 Riverside Dr., Macon, GA 31201.
Joseph was born in Sycamore, Georgia to the late Joseph and Elyse Hampton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hampton and brother, Dwight Hampton. He served his country in the United States Marines. Joseph loved animals, racing pigeons, dogs, flat top Martin guitars, Bluegrass music, learning about family history and genealogy. He loved his family very much.
He is survived by his children, Debra Currie (Malcolm), Joseph R. Hampton Jr., Patrick Hampton, Patricia “Tricia” Cortes (Steven), and Jenny Meyer (John); twelve grandchildren, Dianna, Malcolm Jr., Matthew, Amber, Steven, Kyle, Brendon, Brittany, Chelsea, Lindsey, Jim and Joe, twelve great grandchildren; brother, John Mark Hampton; sister, Ann Boren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
