John W. Vance, Jr., 90, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pinegate, 300 Charter Blvd., Macon GA 31210. Entombment will be private with Rev. Paul Dzidual officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York NY 10163-4777.
Mr. Vance was born on October 29, 1923 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Mr. and Mrs. John W. Vance, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Houser Vance. He served in the United States Air Force and was retired as a Broadcasting Engineer for Georgia Public Broadcasting. Mr. Vance was a member of The Church of the Wildwood. He was a devoted and loving, husband, father, grandfather and brother-in-law.
He is survived by his children, Diane Vance (Frank) Garofalo of Naples, FL, Donna Vance (Russ) Morgan of Powder Springs, and Douglas (Robin) Vance of Cleveland, GA, four grandchildren, Vance Morgan, Rachel Morgan, Charlene Vance, and Shawn Wicker and brother-in-law, Charles C. Houser of Chicago, IL., and his four legged best friend, Houser.
