MACON – John Cleveland Snyder, 73, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Pine Pointe Hospice. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at Macon Memorial Park. The family will meet friend from 1 p.m. to service time at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. They suggest that those who wish make memorial contributions to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon 31210.
Mr. Snyder, son of the late Woodrow and Fannie Mae Davis Snyder, was born in Milledgeville and living in Macon most of his life, was a graduate of Lanier High School. He served with the U. S. Army and was active in the Army Reserve from 1956 til 1998. Mr. Snyder was a charter member of Bethesda Baptist Church, was a former member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and now attended Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his devoted wife of nearly forty-two years, Barbara Bruce Snyder of Macon; his children, Brian Snyder (Mary A.) of Macon and Cecelia Woodard (Mitch) of Forsyth; his grandchildren, Derec (Dottie) Woodard, Jessica (Stephen) Pipkin, Haley Woodard, Allyson Snyder and Kristen Snyder; his sisters, Elizabeth (Walter) Dean and Jewel (Louie) Bachelor; his brother, Allen Wood; his aunts, Lois Payne and Ruby Crowe; several nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Pine Pointe Hospice and the staff of CVICU at the Medical Center for their professional and loving care during this time.
