Jesse O. Dixon

Jesse O. Dixon, 94, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Pastor Lee Strickland officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to donor’s favorite charity.

Mr. Dixon was born in Laurens County to the late Dewell and Verna Wasden Dixon. He was preceded in death by his wife of seventy years, Mary Hamlin Dixon; a daughter, Susan Woods; sister, Peggy Dixon Bell; brothers; Douglas Dixon, Jack Dixon and Charles Leslie Dixon. He was a devoted member of Northside Christian Church for many years. He was retired from the Iron Worker Local #387 where he was a supervisor of construction of Georgia Power Plants. Jesse was a former member of Oak Haven Golf Course where he enjoyed playing golf. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family from helping with projects in their homes to rocking babies. Jesse loved the Lord with all his heart and had the most positive attitude and outlook on life. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by daughter, Nancy Cain (Jimmy) of Griffin; son, David Dixon (Ernestine) of Juliette; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
