Gerald Marvin Day, 84, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. A graveside service will held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. The family will greet friends from Noon until service time at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Gerald was born in Cook County, GA second child of M. L. “Pat” Day and Kathryn Day Moxley. He resided in Macon, GA for over fifty years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Rachel Day and Dexter and Ella Arnold; and sister, Vivian Day Woodard. Gerald served in the Air Force for six years, re-enlisted in the Georgia Army National Guard, and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer IV after thirty years of service. He was educated in Cook High School in Adel and was retired from Consolidated Freight and C&H Bus Lines. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Ingleside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Linda Day of Macon; son, Michael (Beth) Day of Forsyth; step-son, Chris (Nancy) Bass of Eastman; step-daughter, Andrea (Wes) Bearden of Eastman; eight grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Sanford, Patty (Jimmy) Roberts both of Tallahassee, FL and Kay (Clifton) Lord of Warner Robins, GA.
