James H. Sapp, 70, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ed Chambliss officiating. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono. Memorial gifts may be made to American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon 31201.
Mr. Sapp, son of the late Herman and Lillian Mann Sapp, was a lifelong resident of Macon. He served with the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War, ’60 – ’64. Mr. Sapp was owner and operator of James Sapp Produce Co. and was a member of Williamson Road Baptist Church.
Survivors his wife of thirty-six years and caregiver, Carolyn J. Sapp of Macon; three sons, James Maxie (Ann) Sapp of Juliette, Merlin Vaughn (Christine) Sapp and James Mitch Sapp, all of Macon; his grandchildren Martha Grace Sapp, Matthew Jacob Sapp, Monica Blair Sapp, Merlin James Sapp, Micah Steven Sapp and Marla Rene Sapp; three great grandchildren., Steven, Aubrey and Braxton; four sisters, Becky Hudgins, Faye Adkins and Kaye Simpson, all of Fort Valley and Linda Boutwell of Macon; several nieces and nephews.
