James Thomas “Tom” Cason, 62, passed away on August 12, 2021. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Pastor Quinn Hammock will officiate. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Cason, known as Pops to those dear to him, was born in Macon, GA to Peggy Johnson Cason and the late James Henry Cason. He was a devoted Christian and family man. Mr. Cason was a member of Fellowship Community Church where he also served as a deacon. He was a proud veteran of The United States Navy, a jack of all trades and could build anything, especially with metal. Mr. Cason loved his grandchildren and spending time with them, tinkering, and cooking and grilling for his church. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast and loved his motorcycle family. Mr. Cason was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Cason.
Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Bonnie Cason; sons, A.J. Cason (Felicia), Joshua Carr (Amy) and Richard Carr (Rachael); eight grandchildren; mother, Peggy Cason; brothers, Wayne Mathis and Donny Mathews; several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.
