Jackson E. “Jack” Harrell, Jr. 86, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Rob Robinson officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Raintree Village, Children’s Home, 3757 Johnston Road, Valdosta GA 31601.
Mr. Harrell was born in Macon, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his father, Jackson E. Harrell, mother and step-father, Marjorie Harrell Griffin and Marvin A. Griffin and his sister, Peggy Harrell Land. He served in the Merchant Marines and the United States Air Force. Jack was retired from Robins Air Force Base as a computer programmer and was a member of Thomaston Road Church of Christ. Nicknamed “Paw” by his grandchildren, he lived life to the fullest and most of all loved traveling with his grandchildren. “Paw” was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty six years, Marion “Gee” D. Harrell of Macon, daughter; Marjorie (Jim) Davidson of Byron, son; Michael A. Harrell of Warner Robins, grandchildren; Scott (Amy) Edge of Macon, Dana (Gregg) Turner of Athens, Blaine (Sonya) Harrell of Roberta, Lori (Andy) Adams of Byron, eight great grandchildren; Jessica Edge, Peyton Turner, Jack Turner, Davis Turner, Nathan Harrell, Michael Harrell, Griffin Arnold and Garrett Arnold and several nieces.
