James Harley Martin, 88, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 @ 2:00 p.m. at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mark Goolsby officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Harley was born in Jesup, Georgia to the late John E. and Mamie Hughes Martin. He was preceded in death by his nine siblings. Harley served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Harmony Community Church. He retired from Georgia Motor Finance Company. Harley enjoyed traveling, air shows, coaching and umpiring, he served on the board at Western Little League and also served as President. He was instrumental in girls fast pitch softball. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy J. Martin, children, Jim (Cindy) Martin, Jon (Margie) Martin, Jeff (Connie) Martin, Marvin Potts, and Ellen Foster, grandchildren, Ryan, Casey, Bryce, Taylor-Anne, Jayme, Casey, Zoe and Zachary, seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
