Glenda Newberry Jordan

Glenda Newberry Jordan, 58, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Gardner will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Bethel Baptist Church, 7495 Knoxville Road, Lizella 31052 or to Heartland Hospice, 200 Northside Crossing, Macon 31210.

Glenda was the owner of Four Seasons Travel Agency for many years. In later years, and until her retirement due to medical issues, she was prominent in the hospitality industry in sales and marketing for UGA. Glenda will be remembered for her warm, outgoing personality, and could light up a room with her smile. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Glenda was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Glenda is survived by those she loved most, her family….her parents, M. C. and Betty Tucker Newberry of Lizella; her sister, Sharon (Billy) Manning of Lizella; her brother, Stan (Teri) Newberry of Virginia; her nephews, Drew Manning, Coby Manning and Michael Newberry; her niece, Ella Newberry; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and her beloved “dog-child,” Lucy.
