Glenda Evans Hampton, 78, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Paul Dziadul will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
Mrs. Hampton was born in Macon the daughter of the late Lura Cox Evans Lanier and Joseph David Evans. Preceded in death by her brother, Joe Evans; sisters, Peggy Bickley and Frances Currie. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Mrs. Hampton is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dwight Hampton of Macon; children, Cindi Smith of Macon, Terri (Phil) Childs of Hendersonville, NC, Charles E. Ware, Jr. of Macon, Stephanie (Sherman) Pierce of Macon, and Dwight (Mary) Taylor Hampton, Jr.; 6 beautiful grandchildren; siblings, Patsy Wallace of Macon, David Lanier of Macon, Elizabeth (Kevin) Reig of Johnson City, TN, Darrell (Michelle) Lanier of Macon; many nieces & nephews.
