Evelyn D. Meadows

MACON – Evelyn Dollar Meadows, 82, passed away Friday, July 08, 2011 at a local heath care facility. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Tom H. Ivey, Jr. will officiate. The family will meet friends from 7 – 9 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home and suggests that those who wish make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Georgia Chapter, Suite 201, 277 MLK, Jr. Blvd., Macon, GA 31201.

Mrs. Meadows, wife of the late Spencer “Buck” Meadows, was born in Dawsonville, GA the daughter of the late Watson and Zelia Hall Dollar. She had lived in Macon a number of years and had worked in sales at H. L. Green Dime Store, Allied Chemical and K-Mart. She was a devoted homemaker and was a member of Bethel Baptist, Dawsonville. Mrs. Meadows was the sister of the late Kathleen Bailey, Sandra Ward and Leonard Dollar.

Survivors include her sons, Frank (Donna) Meadows and Gary (Vickie) Meadows, all of Lizella; her daughters, Wendell (Hamp) Lovett and Vivian (Royce) Givens, all of Macon; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; her sister, Inez Waters of Jackson, GA and several nieces and nephews.
