Mrs. Evelyn retired from Colonial Bakery, where she was the first female hired to prepare and bake bread for the company. She enjoyed gospel music, shopping and traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains. But her absolute favorite place to go was Cleveland, TN to see her favorite gospel group, The Singing Echoes. She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Ms. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Jefferson Kersey, Jr.; son, Joseph Lee Kersey; grandchildren, Joseph Lee Kersey, Jr., Matthew Ronald Kersey, Doug Thompson, Wesley Charles Thompson, and Aiden Rozier.
Survivors include her children, Ronnie Kersey (Jeannie), Linda Rozier (Randall), Gail Smith (Mitchell), Tommy Kersey (Nancy), and Cheryl Kersey; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter "pretty girl" Peyton Denise Beckum; and extended family and friends.
