Elizabeth Ann Mathews Swain, 82, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Stuart McNarry officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet family and friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Mrs. Swain was born in Lee Pope, GA to the late Robert Mathews, Sr. and Edna Philmon Mathews. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church for the majority of her life, President of the Christians on Duty Senior group, and a member of the telephone company Pioneers. Mrs. Swain was an avid gardener. She enjoyed spending her days on the porch bird watching and being outdoors. Mrs. Swain had a love for all animals. She loved her Lord and she never met a stranger. Mrs. Swain was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Joseph R. Swain; mother-in-law, Cecil Swain and grandson, Matthew Swain Spivey.
Survivors include her daughters, Cherry (Ken) Brogdon and Candy (Mark) Spivey; granddaughters, Summer (Kevin) Williams and Kenleigh (Justin) Hughes; great grandson, Wyatt Williams; brother, Bobby (Trina) Mathews; several nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
