Mrs. Delores C. Casteel passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014. A memorial service to give thanks for her life will be held on Monday, August 11 at 11 o’clock, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service. Burial will be private, following the memorial service. The Rev. Danny Lyles will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association, Better Breather’s Club, 350 Hospital Drive, Macon, GA 31217, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.
Mrs. Casteel, daughter of the late Charlie William and Martha M. Dykes Crumley, was born in Dodge County. She attended school in Eastman, Georgia. She was a homemaker, but also worked as secretary and part owner of Charlie Casteel Construction for 54 years. Mrs. Casteel was a former member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church, and a past member of Weeds & Seeds Garden Club of Lizella, Georgia. She is preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Casteel. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and caregivers of John Wesley Villas, Dr. Tom Price, and Dr. Mark Hendricks.
Surviving Mrs. Casteel are her husband of 65 years, Charlie E. Casteel; a son, Chuck Casteel, Jr., daughter, Ann Casteel (Randy) Tidwell; son, Mike (Cindy) Casteel; grandchildren, Miranda Long, Jason Tidwell, Scott Calhoon, Michael Calhoon, Charlie Casteel, Bailey Casteel; great grandchildren, Anne Marie Long, Sam Calhoon, and Finn Casteel Calhoon.
