Damon Wheat Flynn, 74, went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 12, 2021 surrounded by his family. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. in Macon Memorial Park Chapel with the Rev. Terry Gay officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday starting at 10:00 a.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Damon was born in Bainbridge, Georgia to the late Rev. Woodrow David Flynn and Edna Cole Flynn. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Carol Gay Flynn and brother, Gary David Flynn. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. Damon was involved with Singing Sams RV Club and a member of Second Baptist Church. He was a charitable chef, helping to support individuals and organizations in need. Damon retired from Old Dominion as terminal manager and loved wood carving and spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling, sports and any outdoor activities.
He is survived by his; children, David Flynn of Warner Robins, Amelia “Amy” (Jim) DiPietro of Macon; grandchildren, James DiPietro III, Traci Waldrep, David (Faith) Cohen, Ashley (Noah) Malcom, Harley Flynn, Jalyn DiPietro; great grandchild, Hunter Cohen; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.
