On May 25th, 1956, Connie was born to parents James Monroe Moore Jr and Betty Ruth Shurling Moore in Milledgeville, GA. Connie graduated high school with honors from Jonesco Academy in Gray, Georgia, where she was awarded “Ms. Jonesco” in 1974 and was selected to the SEAIS All-Star basketball team. Connie later earned a degree from the Interactive College of Technology in College Park, Georgia.
In addition to being a loving mother, Connie had an extreme love for animals and held an unwavering faith in God. Connie was active in Kairos prison ministry, sharing her faith in Jesus Christ, which impacted the hearts and lives of many incarcerated men, women, and youth. Her kind and sweet spirit touched anyone who knew her.
She worked as a customer service and operations manager for most of her career until retiring in 2020.
Connie joins her father, James Moore, in Heaven. She is survived by her mother, Betty Moore, brothers Wallace Moore and Warren Moore, children Katie Shawn O’Kelly, Robert Gary O’Kelly Jr, Michael Keith O’Kelly, granddaughter Abigail Paige Fields O’Kelly, and her two pitbull fur-babies Coco and Clyde.
Services will be held at the Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on Saturday, February 5th, 2022, at 11 am. A Facebook Live stream of the service will be available at https://www.facebook.com/MaconMemorialPark.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Friend’s of the Forlorn Pet Rescue in Dallas, GA, an organization Connie felt strongly about.
