Carolyn R. Cox, 73, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 in Cumming. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Shell will officiate. The family will meet friends from 10 a.m. to service time on Monday at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Chancel Choir of Liberty United Methodist Church, 6511 Houston Road, Macon 31216 or the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon 31201.
Mrs. Cox, wife of the late William Roland Cox and daughter of the late Ruth Sophie Roesner Schneider and John Martin Schneider, was a native of Evansville, Indiana. She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, the Liberty Chancel Choir, and the Liberty United Methodist Women, Executive Secretary. Mrs. Cox was a Coliseum Hospital Volunteer where she had over 800 hours of caring. She was a member of the Peachie H’Attitudes Red Hat Group, H2U, AARP, HARFE and XYZ.
Survivors include her children, Sam (Shannon) Cox of Bealeton, VA, Rhett (Amy) Cox of Black River, NY and Roxanne (Bruce) Smith of Atlanta; her beloved grandchildren, Sam Cox, Jr., Chris Cox, Aly Woods and Elizabeth Cox; sister, Mary McGrew; brother, John (Ruth) Schneider.
