Bobby was born in Linden, Texas to the late Jinks and Bessie Lou Bateman Abernathy. He served his country in the United States Army and was retired from Bell Helicopter as production control supervisor where he worked for over thirty years. Bobby was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Quitman, TX. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Margaret Robinson Abernathy of Quitman, TX, children, Michele (Harry) Jernigan of Macon, Bryan Abernathy of Benbrook, TX, grandchildren, Danielle Jernigan, Chelsea Hackler, and Bryce Abernathy, great grandchildren, Brayden and Aubrey Hackler, sister, Peggy Sellars of Arlington, TX and brother, Jack Abernathy of Midlothian, TX and several nieces and nephews.
