Bessie L. Stewart, 76, of Macon passed away July 20, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Ave., officiated by Rev. Phil Bryant and Dr. Mike Parker. Burial will follow the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. For everyone’s safety, please remember to wear a mask and use social distancing recommendations.
Ms. Stewart graduated from Margaret McEvoy High School. She was employed with Bibb County Department of Family and Children Services for 14 years. She was a member of Mikado Baptist Church and a participant of the Senior Group.
She was the daughter of the late L.B. and Dorothy Carpenter Lewis. Ms. Stewart is survived by her daughter, Lisa Stewart Barnes (Carl); grandchildren, Stewart, Benjamin (Allie), and Kaitlyn Barnes all of Macon; great granddaughter, Abigail Barnes; God daughter, Jenny Fox; a very special cousin, Hershel Saylor; three special great granddogs, Drake, Nash, and Stella; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dave A. Lewis Sr. and Benny Lewis; and sister-in-law, Debra Lewis.
