Barbara Jean Yates, 83, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at her residence. Services will be held 10:30am, Saturday, March 18, 2023, at New Heights Church in Macon.
Mrs. Yates was born March 27, 1939, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to the late Carl Childress and Vivian Watson Childress. She was a member of New Heights Church and was retired from Shogren Hosiery Factory in North Carolina. Mrs. Yates was devoted to her family and loved her cats.
Mrs. Yates is survived by her daughters: Juli Sumner and Brenda Gail Gagnon; sons: Robert Yates and Joseph Yates; grandchildren: Justin Yates, Jenna Yates, Patrick Perkins, Adrienne Perkins, Kayla Cope, Andy Gagnon, Amanda Yates, Peyton Yates and Jessica Chin; as well as several great-grandchildren as well as her siblings in Hawaii.
