Amy Morris Roughton, 38, lost her lifelong battle with juvenile diabetes on Monday, July 18, 2011. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. David Collinsworth and Chris Moncrief officiating. Amy was born in Macon, Georgia and had lived in Central Georgia all of her life. She graduated with honors from Cross Keys Christian Academy and upon graduation, she worked as a Bookkeeper. Despite her illness, with the help of her talented and dedicated medical team, she continued to live life to the fullest. Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Katie Groover, J.W. Fowler and J.D. and Laverne Morris. Her zeal for life served to inspire all those who met her!
She resided with and is survived by her loving husband, Loye Roughton, mother, Leila Wilkerson, and aunt and uncle, Ethel and Steve Jones, other survivors include, father, Tom Morris, grandfather, David Groover, sisters, Megan Wilkerson and Raegan Hedges and many loving and devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and her dog, Gabby.
