Alice Eathel Railey, 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 05, 2014 surrounded by her family. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jonn McDaniel, Mrs. Susan McDaniel and Dr. Patrick Railey officiating. Flowers will graciously be accepted or those who wish may make donations to the Lou Gehrig’s Disease Foundation, 3300 E. Sunrise Dr., Tucson, AZ 85718.
Mrs. Railey was born in Bessemer, AL to the late Charlie and Celia Finch Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Railey, son, Carl D. “Buddy” Railey and son-in-law, Jerry P. James. Mrs. Railey was a member of the First Baptist Church of Christ and formerly a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
She was survived by three daughters, Madge James of Atlanta, Marie (Chuck) McLendon of Macon, Alice (Ronnie) Hardman of Kathleen, two sons, Charlie G. (Jackie) Railey of Macon, Kenneth (Patricia) Railey of Byron, twelve grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
