Wanda L. Taylor, 91, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 23, 2023. The daughter of Vernon and Opal (Spears) Crouch was born on February 21, 1932 in Greenville, Texas. She married Rex Ferguson in 1951. He preceded her in death in 1974. She married Roger Taylor in 1993. Her career spanned 33 years in the brokerage business. In 1985, She was nominated for an award at the YWCA Leader Luncheon. She and Roger were active volunteers and traveled extensively. Wanda was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Roger; her two children, Cynthia (Mark) Trollop and Thomas (Teresa) Ferguson; two grandsons, Bryan (Amy) Trollop and Patrick (Becky) Trollop; and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are three step-children, Cheryl Sweeney, Kim (Tim) Johnston and Douglas (Tammy) Taylor; eight step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband and her parents.
A visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
