Melissa A. Kisting

Melissa A. Kisting, 46, of Roscoe, IL, passed away peacefully, Friday morning, November 15, 2024. She was born August 29,1978 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Thomas C. and Diane (Johnson) Kisting. Melissa graduated from Rockford Career College with her Associate's degree in business. She also graduated from Regency Beauty School in Rockford. Melissa worked as a hairdresser out of her home for many years. She enjoyed diamond painting and watching movies and shows. Melissa loved playing cards and board games, especially "Clue." She was an amazing cook and cooking was her love language. Melissa was a strong, caring person and was known as a confidant to many people. She was tiny but mighty but you knew where she stood. Most of all, she adored spending time with her family.

Melissa is loved and missed by her children, Kara Sallis, Christopher Kisting and Kyson Kisting; grandchildren, Nakyiah and Amyara; parents, Thomas C. and Diane Kisting; siblings, Kevin (Samantha) Kisting and Teresa (Corey Pickens) Kisting; nephews, Tion; niece, Tessa; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas D. Kisting; paternal grandparents, Delbert and Delores Kisting; and maternal grandparents, William and Dorothy Johnson.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00-6:30 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a time of sharing to be held from 6:15-6:30 p.m. A celebration of life will follow.
