Larry Peter Williams

Larry P. Williams, 80, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away on August 20, 2022. He was born in Rockford, IL on January 6, 1942 to Ray and Vivian (Williamson) Williams. Larry married the love of his life, Wilma K. Davis, on May 19, 1968 and together they had two children. He worked for A & R Freight for over 35 years as a Diesel Mechanic. Larry was a Chicago Cubs and Nascar fan. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. Larry was very caring and was always willing to help out a family member or friend. He had a great sense of humor and was known in the family as the jokester. Larry was always a phone call away if you needed advice on anything. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Larry is survived by his children, Tammy Perry and Todd (Stephanie) Williams; his step-daughter, Valerie (Rick) Koch; his grandchildren, Ashley (Mike), Jacob (Kathy), Nicholas, Kevin, David (Rebecca), Cheyenne, and Gracelyn; his great grandchildren, Kiera, Jachobie, Charlee, Kaylee, and Ophelia; his siblings, Ray (Carol) Williams, Marla (Gene) Haley, Wanda (Don) Moore, and Kay Williams; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Wilma; his parents, Ray and Vivian; and his brothers, Gary and Terry Williams.

Funeral Service for Larry will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd., Machesney Park, IL 61115. Visitation starts at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
