Jason Ray Willis, age 54, of Loves Park, Illinois passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023. Jason was born on January 7, 1969, to Sharon and Carl Ray Willis in Gary, Indiana. He attended Valparaiso High School, where he was twice an all state linebacker. He met the love of his life at Rockford Christian Camp, Dulane Daughtry, later marrying her on September 1, 1990, in Rockford, Illinois. His love for God became his life passion, especially youth ministry. He pursued that ministry at North Park Church of Christ and Rockford Christian Camp, where he served as a board member for several years.
His sense of humor allowed him to make meaningful connections with people that led to deep, spiritual conversations and guidance. He loved to share his love for Jesus. He was very tenderhearted, often caring for those who were going through trials in their lives. His faith in God guided every aspect of his life: friend, camp counselor, camp director, youth minister, son, brother, uncle, husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Dulane; daughters, Jeslyn Rae (Zach) Wallace and Kailyn Jae Willis; granddaughter, Zephi Rae Wallace; parents, Sharon and Carl Ray Willis; sisters, Carla Willis, Rhonda Owen, and Melinda Willis; nephews, Caleb Ray Willis and Jordan Owen; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life for Jason will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 2:00 P.M., at Rockford Christian Camp, 3993 Blackhawk Rd., Rockford, IL 61109. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rockford Christian Camp.
