Janice Marie Howe, 85, of Loves Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully, Sunday June 5, 2022 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. She was born August 24, 1936 in Winona, Minnesota, the daughter of Louis and Adeline (Zill) Luksa. Janice married her sweetheart, Lester C. Howe on October 30, 1954 in Winona, MN. She and Lester came to the Rockford area in 1967. Janice was a loving and caring mother of six, who doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cheering her grandchildren on at their sporting events and recitals. Janice enjoyed bowling and going to the casino. She liked reading, crocheting and doing puzzles. Janice was the matriarch of our family and truly will be missed.
Janice is survived by her children, Debra (Dale) Jackson, Vicki (Glenn) Watson, Linda Howe, Dawn (Mike) Alley, Carrie (Jeff) Lonas and Michelle (Scott) Eaton; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; son, Michael Howe; and four siblings.
