Henry "Hank" Blaisdell Atwood, 81 departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Beloit Senior Living in Beloit, Wisconsin after a sudden illness. Hank was born on April 21, 1937 in Pasadena, California to parents John and Elizabeth (Blaisdell) Atwood. Hank lived in California, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Missouri and Pennsylvania before spending most of his life in Roscoe, Illinois and most recently Beloit, Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Army and graduated from NIU. He married Judith Roland in 1996. He spent his career as a factory model maker, English teacher, and Vice President of Kennedy Construction. He also very much enjoyed wood carving, traveling, model building, his pets, and Notre Dame Football. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha, Mensa, and National Woodcarver's Association. Hank is survived by his wife Judith, son William (Bethany) Atwood, daughter Beth (Danny) Price, stepdaughters Dawn Everson, Dayna (Paul) Thwaits and eight grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and former wife Barbara Atwood. Special thanks to Beloit Senior Living for their care the last few months and to Beloit Regional Hospice. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10am. Visitation will be at 9:00am until time of service at Sunset Funeral Home with a burial at Roscoe Cemetery.
