She was born November 30, 1920 in Orangeville, IL, the daughter of Irvin and Grace Heitz. She married Alton Kuhl July 13, 1941. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, three daughters Karen Clarida, Cynthia(Carson) Aurand and Barbara (Dirk) Klein.
She loved her family, friends and her home. Throughout her life Ellen enjoyed traveling, camping, knitting and playing pull tabs at the Eagles Club in Rockford and Mount Morris Moose Clubs where she was a member.
She is survived by her son William (Carol) Kuhl, daughters Susan (Jeff) Miles and Vicki Kuhl; 11 grand children and several great grand children.
Funeral services will be held Friday December 23, 2011 at 2:00p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home in Machesney Park, visitation will take place one hour prior to services. Burial will take place immediately following services at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park.
