Christopher L. Peters

Christopher “Chris” L. Peters, 38, of Rockford, IL. left this earthly life too soon on Saturday, May 20, 2017. He was a caring father to his son, Colton whom he loved very much and a good friend to many. He would offer to help anyone in need. Chris was employed by On Site Woodworking, and recognized as a good worker and very trainable. Chris was passionate with keeping a fit and sculpted body. He was a member of the Northern Illinois Combat Club where he trained as a kickboxer. He also earned the title of Team Green as a member of the MMA. A perfect day for Chris would be spending the day on the beach with his son, Colton. Chris was born in Rockford, IL. on December 28, 1978, to Lee and Kathleen Peters.

Survived by parents; son, Colton; and his mother, Charity; sister, Jennifer (Chad) Peters – Stephens; brothers, Brandon (Sara Christensen) Peters, Ryan (Rylee Antzak) Peters; nephews, Kyle and Joshua; nieces, Kaylin, Racquelle, McKenzie, Isabella; cousins, Matthew (Erica) Schwartz, Daniel Peters , Matthew Jr., Alec, and BFF cousin,Nicole (Joe) Schwartz-Gates; aunt/uncle, Terri (Andy) Nelson; a very special person for part of his life, Ashley Einermann. Predeceased by uncle, Larrry Peters.

Celebration of Chris’s Life: 2:00 on Friday, June 2 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL.. Visitation: 1:00 ~ 2:00. A benefit with live music/food will be held on Saturday, June 3, at NMT Drink Bar, 2233 Perryville Rd. Rockford, Il.
