Carl E. Paul, 87, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Thursday afternoon, February 21, 2019 at Saint Anne’s Center. Carl was born November 28, 1931 in Pine Rock Township, IL, the son of Earl and Ruth (Drumheller) Paul. Carl served in the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Barber Coleman for many years before retiring. Carl married Lucille Buck in July of 1992. He was a proud member of the VFW Post 9759 in Loves Park. Carl enjoyed fishing and going for drives through the parks, and going to the casino. Carl was a low key gentleman who will truly be missed.
Carl is loved and missed by his wife, Lucille; children, Randy (Karla) Paul, Carla (Doug) Allton, Kevin (Cheryl) Paul, Denny (Karolyn) Paul, and Jeff (Martha) Paul; step-children, Renee (Dave) Erickson, Judy Olmsted, Jim (Karen) Buck, Roxann Crandell, and Duane Buck; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Pierce, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, and 2 sisters.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family.
