Troy Elcany Saunders

Troy Elcany Saunders was born on December 31, 1995 in Athens, Texas to parents David Lester and Lucille Electa (Spurgin) Saunders and entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2016 at the age of 20. Troy was an amazing young man and very talented. He was attending Trinity Valley Community College pursuing his Business Degree. Troy worked at Guitar Etc. in Athens, where he taught guitar lessons to many students of all ages. Troy won the Fiddler’s Reunion contest two years in a row and proudly served as a judge for two years. He was a former member of the “Chris Wayne Band”. He loved playing his guitar and making music. Troy was a very loving and caring young man who will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.

Troy was preceded in death by his grandmother Laura Lameta Saunders, grandfather Roy Elcany Spurgin Jr., cousin Jay Saunders and cousin Clayton Spurgin.

He is survived by his parents David and Lucille Saunders of Mabank, sister Laura Henderson and husband Kolby of Tyler, brother John Burnett of Duncanville, niece Leah Henderson of Tyler, grandfather Robert Saunders of Duncanville, grandmother Karen Spurgin of Desoto, uncle Clay Saunders of Duncanville, uncle Jimmy Saunders of Duncanville, uncle Travis Spurgin and wife Rebecca of Glenn Heights, aunt Rebecca Peterson and husband John of Alvord, aunt Prudence Hughes and husband Garry of Jacksonville, aunt Patience Newton of Grand Prairie, numerous cousins, other loving family members and many dear friends.
