A celebration of life funeral service for Linden Carrol Aycock, Sr., 80, of Gun Barrel City, Texas will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Mabank, Texas with Bro. Doug Keys officiating.
Linden passed away January 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 27, 1943, in DeWitt, Arkansas to James Washington and Bessie Elizabeth (DeWease) Aycock. He attended school in Duncanville, Texas before joining the Navy and proudly serving this country from 1963-1968. After his military service, Linden met the love of his life in Pamela and they were married on January 12, 1972. Linden was a skilled welder in the Navy and he brought that skill into his civilian life. He was the go to guy if you needed anything fixed. Linden spent many years driving an 18-wheeler truck while listening to country music by Merle Haggard and answering to his well known handle "Old Man". When he was home, Linden enjoyed hunting, watching westerns and going to car shows with hot rods.
Linden is preceded in death by his treasured wife, Pam Aycock; parents, James and Bessie Aycock; sisters: Mary Mooneyham, Shirley Russell; brother, J.W. Aycock; and son-in-law, Marshall Mathis.
He is survived by his beloved family: daughter, Vickey Mathis; sons: Doug Lander, Linden Aycock, Jr. and wife, Lisa; grandchildren: Marshall, Billy, Rebecca, Melody, Bobby, Brandie, Kasie, Garett, Joel, Ashley, Lori; numerous great grandchildren; sisters: Ruby Friemel, Yolanda Williams and husband, PJ; brother, DeWayne Aycock.
Visitation with the family will be held Friday, January 12, from 5-7pm at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, Texas.
