Joe was born to Joe Charles Walenta and Mary Albina Michalic Walenta on March 1, 1933, in Richmond, Texas.
Loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Cleta; son, William Charles “Skip” Walenta; stepdaughters, Pam Hakala (Doug), and Pennie Farr; stepson, Pat Atkinson (Jolene); 7 grandchildren: Stephen Walenta, Shannon Walenta, Jaime Reyes (Melissa), Heather Veader (Michael), Chris Atkinson (Neisha), Andrew McManaman (Megan), and Justin Atkinson; 14 great grandchildren; niece, Sharon Muzmy; nephew, Leldon Walenta; and many friends!
He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Lee Walenta and Sidney Walenta; and 2 sisters, Lilymae Walla and Clara Edna Walenta.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Payne Cemetery in Eustace, Texas.
