Carol Sue Wagner was born to parents Edward Dale Ellard and Rebecca E. (McHand) Ellard, on February 23, 1951. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 19, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Carol Sue was an amazing woman with a strong will and a huge heart. She married her best friend and love of her life, Vernon R. Wagner, on September 13, 1969. Vernon will tell you that Carol Sue’s bullheadedness was his biggest blessing, she dug in and stuck by his side through the good, the bad and all the in between. Together they built a beautiful life and family. Carol Sue had a wicked sense of humor, she was always up for starting an epic food fight or water fight with the whole family and blasted her classic rock every Saturday. Her family was the most important part of her life, she was very active with her children in Little League and beyond, never missing a game or any event they were involved in. Carol Sue loved working outdoors and adored Magnolia blossoms. She enjoyed craft work, crocheting, knitting and creating beauty with her hands. She was an avid reader and loved watching scary movies and sci-fi. Above all being a Mam Maw was her greatest joy. Carol Sue was a feisty Cajun mixed with a conservative hippy who had a contagious laugh and a heart of gold, she would help anyone in need. Always a good sport, laughter was a huge part of her and her personality. Whether poking fun at herself, quick wit responses back to her “handful” of a husband, or pulling a good prank, she always carried herself with grace and love. Carol Sue was a truly special woman and the world will be a different place without her. She was loved by all who knew her and each heart she touched will miss her tremendously.
Carol Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Dale and Rebecca E. Ellard and son-in-law, Floyd White. She is survived by husband, Vernon R. Wagner; daughter, Katherine Sleeper and husband Chris, their children, Peyton Rae Sleeper and Krew Jaxon Sleeper; daughter, Michelle White and her children, Kaitlyn White, Ashleigh Dinmore and husband Andrew and Shelby White; sister-in-law, Carla Richert; brother-in-law, Ivan Richert and her beloved cousin and honorary sister, Betty Jean and her husband Archie Chandler.
